Price
The price of clothing plays a large part in the process of purchasing. More often than not, people are slightly dubious when it comes to paying excessive amounts for a top brand due to the sheer fact not many people have a lot of spare money due to the recent recession. A good way to justify paying a lot of money is to try and work out price per wear. Depending on how often you think you will wear the item, will it be worth the splurge? High end brands are usually well known for being a quality, trusted brand. The price of supermarket clothing is expected to have a much smaller price tag due them not soulfully focusing the manufacturing of the garments due to other more important departments in store.
Quality
When paying a lot of money for a garment, we expect excellent quality. Top branded products usually deliver great quality which is mirrored in the price. Designer and op branded items are usually durable as well as being designer well. The quality of supermarket and high street store goods tend to generally offer poor quality, again due to the fact designing clothes is not their main priority but it appears that some lower priced brands also deliver great quality.
Design
Not only do we look for quality and a reasonable price tag, but the design is more often the top priority for most buyers. Supermarket clothing originally supplied the basic designs and classed them as wardrobe essentials, this way they could cater for a vast majority of people. Now they supply a great variety of designs for us to choose from. Well known brands offer delicately designs that take careful craftsmanship this is the reason for them being well known to the public. Although some brands use their brand as a design tool and broadcast the name of the brand all over their products, these styles often appeal to those who are more interested in the brand of products they wear for fashion reasons rather than personal choice.
It leaves us to question whether we are fashion conscious about which brands we wear or if our choices are based solely around the quality and design of the garment.
